It is no coincidence that Christ Community Fellowship is here in the Sorrento/Mount Plymouth area.  God has ordained us with a purpose.  In Matthew chapter 5, Jesus said,

“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”

We view our Community Ministries as a spark that helps light the fire in individuals who want to serve others outside their four walls.   Our ultimate purpose is to get people “out of their seats and into the streets" to show Christ’s love to those in need.

In our community there are untold numbers of hurting people, some physically, some financially, some emotionally, but almost always, spiritually.  Through our support of local food banks, assisted living facilities, pregnancy/abortion counselling services, disaster recovery assistance, our family has found a multitude of ways to reach back into our neighborhoods to serve these needs.

We believe that no individual or their unique circumstances are beyond God’s grasp.  We recognize though that God wants us to be His arm reaching out to walk alongside these people in their time of deepest needs.
